Hadith 586:1
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, who said: 'Ata' informed me that Safwan ibn Ya'la ibn Umayyah informed him that Ya'la used to say to Umar ibn al-Khattab: "I wish I could see the Prophet when the revelation descends upon him." He said: When he was at al-Ji'ranah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a garment covering him, with a group of his companions with him, including Umar, a man came to him wearing a jubbah (cloak) and smeared with perfume. He said: He said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is your opinion regarding a man who has entered into ihram for Umrah while wearing a jubbah after having smeared himself with perfume?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked for a moment, then remained silent. Then the revelation came to him. Umar gestured to Ya'la to come, so Ya'la came and put his head in. Behold, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a reddened face and was snoring (or breathing heavily) like that for a moment. Then it was relieved from him. He said: "Where is the one who asked me about the Umrah just now?" The man was sought and brought to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "As for the perfume that is on you, wash it off three times. As for the jubbah, take it off. Then do in your Umrah what you do in your Hajj."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، عن ابن جريج، قال: أخبرني عطاء، أن صفوان بن يعلى بن أمية، أخبره أن يعلى كان يقول: لعمر بن الخطاب: ليتني أرى النبي حين ينزل عليه، قال: فلما كان بالجعرانة وعلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثوب قد أظل به معه ناس من أصحابه، منهم عمر، إذ جاءه رجل عليه جبة متضمخا بطيب، قال: فقال يا رسول الله، كيف ترى في رجل أحرم بعمرة في جبة بعد ما تضمخ بطيب؟ فنظر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ساعة ثم سكت، فجاءه الوحي فأشار عمر إلى يعلى أن تعال، فجاء يعلى، فأدخل رأسه، فإذا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم محمر الوجه يغط كذلك ساعة، ثم سري عنه، فقال: " أين الذي سألني عن العمرة آنفا؟ " فالتمس الرجل فأتي به، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم " أما الطيب الذي بك، فاغسله ثلاث مرات، وأما الجبة فانزعها، ثم اصنع في عمرتك كما تصنع في حجتك "
