Musnad Ahmad 332:1

The remaining Hadith of Abu Burdah bin Niyar, whose name is Hani bin Niyar, the maternal uncle of Al-Bara (RA).

بقية حديث أبي بردة بن نيار واسمه هانئ بن نيار خال البراء

Hadith 332:1

Hajjaj and Hujayn narrated to us, they said: Isra’il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Bara’, from his maternal uncle Abu Burdah, that he said: "O Messenger of Allah, we hastened [the slaughter of] a meat-sheep of ours." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Did you perform the prayer?" I said: "Yes." He said: "That is a meat-sheep." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, we have a young she-goat (anāq) that is a year old (jadha'ah), which is more beloved to me than a full-grown one (musinnah)." He said: "It suffices for you, but it does not suffice for anyone after you."

حدثنا حجاج، وحجين، قالا: حدثنا إسرائيل، عن أبي إسحاق، عن البراء، عن خاله أبي بردة أنه قال: يا رسول الله، إنا عجلنا شاة لحم لنا، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " أقبل الصلاة؟ "، قلت: نعم، قال: " تلك شاة لحم "، قال: يا رسول الله، إن عندنا عناقا جذعة هي أحب إلي من مسنة، قال: " تجزئ عنه ولا تجزئ عن أحد بعده "
