ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ ﳑ
And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, "Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses before we were humiliated and disgraced?"

"And if We had destroyed them..."
It has been recited as nudhallu wa-nukhzā (that we might be humiliated and disgraced), in the passive voice.
"Say, 'Each is waiting; so wait. For you will come to know who are the companions of the sound path and who has been guided.'"
